Können genossenschaftliche Filialbanken von Direktbanken lernen?

Abstract

Digitalization presents classic financial institutions with challenging tasks. Direct banks gain market shares each year from both public-law and cooperative credit institutions. While direct banks are successful with customers through favorable conditions and digital processes, the regional banks in particular get under increasing competitive pressure, especially because of their business policy. Generation Y and subsequent generations have different needs and desires for their bank than previous age groups. These needs have to be identified and ultimately be met. This article shows the differences between direct banks and cooperative branch banks as well as possible solutions for credit unions.
