Abstract

The close fusion of community forms of organization, in particular of the cooperative, and the collective use of land resources is a well-known phenomenon that has survived, albeit in a different form, to the present day. This close interdependence of cooperative and collective land use was taken up in particular in the cooperative theory Otto von Gierke. It is precisely this, but also the importance of the cooperative for forms of collective land use today, which should form the central point of departure of this essay.
