Abstract

Kreditinstitute spielen eine zentrale Rolle bei der Bekämpfung des Klimawandels und sind gleichzeitig besonders stark von diesem betroffen. Finanziell schlagen ESG-Faktoren – auch abseits vom Klimawandel – immer mehr auf alle bankrechtlichen Risikoarten durch. Dieser Beitrag beleuchtet die bisherigen Antworten des Bankenaufsichtsrechts und erörtert verbleibende Regulierungsperspektiven. Dabei werden die methodischen Möglichkeiten den praktischen Grenzen im Rahmen der Identifikation und Bewertung von ESG-Risiken gegenübergestellt.
