Mecanismos de transmisión de la política monetaria: El canal del crédito

Abstract

En el presente documento, se evalúa el principal canal de trasmisión de la política monetaria en Bolivia, el canal del crédito. A diferencia de estudios previos, se analizó el efecto traspaso de las tasas de los instrumentos monetarios hacia las tasas de mercado. Se consideró la tasa de OMA de 3 meses y la tasa repo como instrumentos de política monetaria, mientras que, como tasas de mercado, se tomó en cuenta la TRe, la tasa de reportos de la BBV y la tasa activa no regulada por sectores. Se empleó un modelo ARDL para estimar el efecto de corto y largo plazo, utilizando datos mensuales para el periodo 2002- 2022. Los resultados reflejan que existiría un grado de efecto traspaso, aunque incompleto. El Ente Emisor debería realizar un mayor seguimiento a las tasas interbancarias, TRe y las de reporto de la BBV, que son las que responderían en mayor medida a la orientación de la política monetaria.
