Research note and communication. The impact of environmental uncertainty on long‐range planning practices of the U.S. savings and loan industry

Abstract

This paper examines the effects of extreme degrees of environmental uncertainty on strategic planning in the U.S. Savings and Loan industry. Results suggest that top management's interpretation of the environment is a strong moderator of the link between environmental uncertainty and the extent of long‐range planning.
