The Construction of Nomograms for Use in Statistics

Abstract

Mr Lyle describes graphical methods for constructing ‘empirical’ nomograms. The methods may be used when the equation to be represented is of such form that a ‘true’ nomogram cannot be constructed by the standard exact methods. Part II, which will appear in the next issue of Applied Statistics, will show how the methods may be applied to the construction of a nomogram direct from the experimental results.
