Tests of Pseudo‐Random Numbers

Abstract

The lattice and spectral tests are shown to be suitable only for full‐period linear congruential pseudo‐random number generators. The correct form of the tests for some multiplicative generators is given. A comparison is made between empirical and theoretical tests of pseudo‐random numbers. The lattices of some generators are displayed and some recommendations are made.
