Education of the information professional: What employers want

Abstract

The characteristics and training information industry employers currently seek and those they will seek in the future in the information professionals they employ are divided into four categories: personal characteristics; knowledge learned as an undergraduate; knowledge learned in professional schools such as graduate schools of information, computer, or library science; knowledge learned on the job and in continuing education. Each is discussed. © 1988 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
