Duplication of japanese names: a problem in citations and bibliographies

Abstract

Authors with Japanese surnames are needlessly confused with each other in citations and bibliographies because their names are extensively duplicated. This report examines the amount of duplication and proposes reducing it by mechanical derivation of middle initials.
