The impact of interlibrary access to periodicals on subscription continuation/cancellation decision making

Abstract

The notion that interlibrary access to periodicals may influence subscription continuation/cancellation decision making is tested empirically in one academic library environment. In the case reported, the existence of an effective interlibrary access network has an apparent impact on faculty willingness to borrow rather than purchase some titles needed, in turn significantly impacting subscription continuation/cancellation decision making.
