Abstract

This study investigated primary school teachers’ levels of awareness about social media based instructional platforms for extended learning. The research design used in this study was a descriptive survey and to achieve this objective, two research questions was formulated to guide the study. A standard questionnaire was used as the main data collection tool. Seventy-six (76) Primary school teachers randomly selected from five public primary schools in Ado Local Government of Ekiti-State, Nigeria. The data collected from respondents were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and descriptive analysis. The finding revealed that many of the respondents are aware of various social media platforms used in teaching, there existed a significant relationship between primary school teachers’ awareness based on the existence of social media platforms and usage of social media platforms for extended learning (r= 0.0219: p
