Abstract

Globalization has made business limitless, which has led to the awareness of the concept of corporate social responsibility. An entrepreneur who focuses only on increasing profits, does not care about ecology and social justice, faces legal problems and is likely to lose customers. Therefore, in today's realities, when entrepreneurship affects various aspects of people's lives and life on the planet as a whole, the topic of corporate social responsibility is relevant. Despite numerous studies in the field of corporate social responsibility, the problem of the formation of the phenomenon of social responsibility through the prism of its historical sources has hardly been considered in scientific literature as an object of special historical and economic research. The purpose of the article is a retrospective analysis of the formation of the model of social responsibility of domestic entrepreneurship in the second half of the 19th – early 20th centuries; reflection of the historical and evolutionary aspect in the formation of the modern institute of corporate social responsibility of enterprises. The methodological basis of our research was general scientific and specific methods of cognition, which determines the conceptual unity of the work. The article is devoted to the formation of social responsibility of business in the economy of Ukraine, focusing on its national traditions. The historical conditions and features of the formation of the model of social responsibility of entrepreneurship are highlighted and a comparative analysis of the development trends of the domestic and Western European business environment is conducted. The article examines the issues of charity and patronage through the prism of the development of the model of domestic social responsibility of entrepreneurship using the example of the activities of Ukrainian sugar producers, namely the Yakhnenko and Symyrenko families. The practical value of this article lies in the fact that only relying on its own economic heritage, taking into account the domestic specifics, Ukraine should create its own effective models and technologies of social responsibility of entrepreneurship that do not contradict the nature of national culture.
