Abstract
The article examines the peculiarities of public administration in the regions of Ukraine. The prerequisites for transformational changes in public administration in modern conditions are determined. The main problems of the development of the public administration system in Ukraine are highlighted. It is substantiated that an important aspect of public administration is the effective development of regions, which today is characterized by uneven economic, social and infrastructural development. It is proved that in modern realities, the security situation affects all areas of regional functioning and public administration since hostilities have led to the destruction of infrastructure and economy in the region. The significant displacement of the population has led to additional needs for social and economic support of internally displaced persons. It is determined that the effectiveness of public administration is an important component of the development of regions and the country as a whole. It is substantiated that the existing methods require significant amounts of data and are difficult to use, so the dynamics of the gross regional product by region and the gross domestic product per capita are most often used for such purposes. The dynamics of regional development indicators are studied with the allocation of more developed and less developed regions. It is established that the effectiveness of public administration can also be traced based on the stable positions of regions over time. It is substantiated that the transformation processes in the public administration of regional development are implemented based on appropriate mechanisms that include certain components. Certain difficulties in the development of public administration have been identified, which are divided into factors of institutional, organizational, political and legal nature. It is established that today an effective method of improving the public administration system is considered to be public involvement in the processes of regional development.
