Valuation of unquoted foreign direct investment stocks at market value: methods and results for France

Abstract

Since 2009, a new method has been used to estimate foreign direct investment equity stocks at market value. Its implementation has led to a substantial revision of France’s net FDI position, which remained broadly positive at 10% of GDP.
