Abstract

Les progrès récents de l'inclusion financière en Afrique subsaharienne, et Firm-specific wage premiums - the extra pay that similarly skilled workers receive in some firms compared with others - contribute greatly to the gender wage gap in US and European labor markets. Women capture a smaller share of firm surpluses than equally skilled men, and are concentrated in part-time-intensive firms, associated with smaller wage premiums. Les avantages salariaux offerts par les entreprises, c'est-à -dire le salaire supplémentaire que certaines entreprises versent aux travailleurs pour un même niveau de qualification, contribuent largement à l'écart de rémunération hommes-femmes sur les marchés du travail aux à‰tats-Unis et en Europe. Les femmes reà§oivent une part moins importante des gains de productivité des entreprises que les hommes, à qualification égale, et elles sont plus présentes dans des entreprises recourant largement au travail à temps partiel, ce qui est associé à des avantages salariaux plus faibles.
