Crecimiento económico en México: la dinámica de la productividad manufacturera regional, 1970-2003

Abstract

Si bien el crecimiento de la productividad en México ha sido prácticamente nulo entre las dos últimas décadas, eso no implica que no hayan ocurrido cambios estructurales relevantes al interior de la economía. En este artículo se presenta el análisis a nivel de manufactura regional. En particular, se identifica la dinámica de la productividad laboral y factorial total para la economía mexicana y regiones seleccionadas, para el período de 1970 a 2003. Los resultados incluyen estimaciones sobre la contribución del capital humano y sugieren evidencia a favor de cambios estructurales importantes en el crecimiento regional, que ayudan a identificar las características del crecimiento económico en México Classification-JEL:040, R11, F15
