Competitividad de las exportaciones de la industria manufacturera de Antioquia: evidencia empírica y determinantes utilizando un modelo SUR

Abstract

Este artículo tiene como propósito principal examinar el estado, la evolución y las causas de la competitividad exportadora de la industria de Antioquia durante el período 1977-2000, región que además del liderazgo industrial, se distinguió por la defensa del régimen proteccionista. Mediante un modelo de regresión –regresiones aparentemente no relacionadas (SUR, por su sigla en inglés)– y, pese a las diferencias intersectoriales, se concluye que una menor protección efectiva y mejoras de la eficiencia productiva son dos de los factores que más han influido en la competitividad exportadora y la reorientación de la producción hacia los mercados externos.
