Exposición de la economía y el sistema bancario españoles a los terceros países materiales

Abstract

Motivación Este artículo analiza, desde varias perspectivas, la exposición de la economía española a los «terceros países materiales» o aquellos fuera del Espacio Económico Europeo (identificados por el Banco de España de forma anual), frente a los que las entidades de crédito españolas mantienen exposiciones de relevancia. Ideas principales En 2024 el Banco de España identificó a Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Estados Unidos, México, Perú, ReinoUnido y Turquía como terceros países materiales para el sistema bancario español. Destaca la exposición al Reino Unido en la mayoría de las variables [activos y pasivos bancarios,inversión extranjera directa (IED) y exportaciones e importaciones de bienes y servicios] y a EstadosUnidos, con cuotas elevadas tanto en comercio de bienes y servicios como en flujos de inversiónprocedentes desde España (en IED y, especialmente, en cartera, tanto en renta fija como variable). De las economías emergentes, sobresale la exposición española a México y Brasil —en ese orden—en activos y pasivos bancarios y en IED con origen en España. En el resto de los países, la exposiciónes mayor en Chile y Turquía que en Colombia y Perú.
