El papel de los préstamos y del ICAS BE en el marco de colateral del Eurosistema en 2024

Abstract

Motivación En este artículo, se analiza la evolución anual del peso de los activos no negociables (básicamente, préstamos bancarios) en el conjunto de activos aportados como garantía en las operaciones de crédito de la política monetaria del Eurosistema, prestando especial atención a la contribución efectiva y potencial del sistema de calificación de empresas del Banco de España (ICAS BE). Ideas principales •En el último año, se ha vuelto a producir un aumento del peso de los activos no negociables en las garantías aportadas por las entidades de contrapartida españolas en las operaciones de financiación del Eurosistema, de modo que ha continuado la tendencia creciente iniciada a raíz de la crisis del COVID-19. De igual forma, se ha incrementado la proporción de dichos activos no negociables correspondientes a préstamos a empresas evaluadas con el ICAS BE. •Existe un amplio margen por parte de las contrapartidas para incrementar el volumen de préstamos pignorados con una calificación del ICAS BE, especialmente en el caso de los concedidos a pymes. •Tras dos años de mejora, las calificaciones crediticias de las empresas españolas asignadas por el ICAS BE han empeorado ligeramente respecto al año previo, debido sobre todo a la mayor carga financiera que soportan las empresas en el contexto actual.
