Las plataformas de financiación participativa de crédito para consumo en España

Abstract

En este artículo se describen los diferentes modelos de plataformas de financiación participativa de crédito para consumo que actualmente operan en España, y se analizan su desarrollo y sus principales características a partir de la información granular que proporcionan dos de las plataformas que operan en nuestro país. Se muestra que, a pesar de que el volumen de financiación concedido por este tipo de plataformas ha avanzado a un ritmo notable durante los últimos años, su peso es todavía muy reducido en comparación con las cifras del crédito bancario. Por otra parte, la evidencia presentada muestra que el perfil de riesgo de los demandantes de fondos que acceden a esta financiación es sustancialmente más elevado que el de los prestatarios de las entidades de crédito.
