Regulación de los servicios, precios de los consumos intermedios y exportaciones

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza las implicaciones económicas de una modificación del marco regulatorio dirigida a fomentar la competencia entre empresas. Se evalúa el efecto que las barreras a la competencia en el sector servicios ejercen sobre el coste de los consumos intermedios y las exportaciones de las empresas manufactureras en España. Las estimaciones realizadas revelan que el proceso de reducción de barreras a la competencia en las últimas décadas ha tenido un impacto significativo sobre las exportaciones reales de las empresas manufactureras, especialmente en las de mayor tamaño, como resultado de la mayor competencia en la provisión de sus bienes intermedios. Los resultados subrayan que mejoras adicionales en el grado de competencia podrían influir sobre la competitividad del conjunto de la economía española.
