Abstract

Technologies affect the trend of an economy and its competence for sustainable development. Generally, this study examines the effect of service rate on market development in the money deposit banks in River State. Specifically, the study investigates how service charge affects the profitability of money deposit banks in River State. Data were collected from selected ATM users at high density urban centres of Obio/Akpor, Khana, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni, Abua-Oduai, Etche, Degema, Okirika, Gokana, Khana and Ahoadain River State. The data generated relates to the Operational Services of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) on Market Performance of Money Deposit Banks in River State, Nigerian through observation and administered questionnaires which were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 25.0. Descriptive and inferential statistics have been used to discuss the findings of the study which explains that service rate will increase market development of banks in River State and the result presented shows that service rate had a positive relationship with market development which its relationship was statistically significant at p = .000 [R = .277, p
