Efecto de los roles de género del hogar en Resultados Educativos de las niñas

Abstract

El presente estudio examina el impacto de la composición de género de los hermanos en los resultados educativos de las primogénitas en Perú. Utilizando datos del Ministerio de Educación, se revela que las primogénitas con hermanos menores varones exhiben un rendimiento inferior en pruebas estandarizadas y a lo largo de la secundaria, especialmente en ciencias y matemáticas. Estos efectos persisten en todos los niveles socioeconómicos pero son más pronunciados en hogares con educación secundaria. Además, la presencia de hermanos afecta las decisiones universitarias de las primogénitas, limitando sus elecciones en campos tradicionalmente masculinos. Este análisis destaca la necesidad de abordar las disparidades de género en la educación peruana y ofrece recomendaciones de política para mitigar estos efectos.
