Abstract

El título completo de esta investigación es "Diagnóstico cualitativo de la responsabilidad social corporativa en Toromocho y Las Bambas: explorando las contribuciones a la igualdad de género y al desarrollo económico local". El estudio desarrolla un diagnóstico cualitativo de los Programas de Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (PRSC) de la minería china del cobre en el Perú a partir de los proyectos Toromocho y Las Bambas. El diagnóstico concluye que para potenciar los impactos de la RSC sobre los ODS, ambos casos necesitan: a) integrar los ODS en la estructura organizacional e institucionalizar sistemas internos para su ejecución y monitoreo, y b) una mayor articulación con el Estado y con otras empresas mineras y no-mineras con influencia económica en las AID. En cuanto a los PRSC de la minería china, se resalta la divergencia en las maneras de aplicar estándares y prácticas de sostenibilidad, y la “brecha” entre los compromisos asumidos al inicio de la operación y su implementación en el terreno luego de la construcción. Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del XVIII Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2016, con el auspicio de Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés), la Fundación Manuel J. Bustamante De la Fuente y el Consorcio de Investigación Económica y Social (CIES).
