Contribuciones voluntarias para la gestión de residuos sólidos en el Cusco: evidencia desde la economía del comportamiento

Abstract

El objetivo principal de la investigación es estimar qué tipos de normas sociales incrementarían la contribución al servicio de limpieza pública en el Cusco. Se han empleado experimentos de comportamiento con base en Mecanismos de Contribución Voluntaria (MCV) para analizar las decisiones de los individuos respecto de contribuir o no a un bien público. Se encuentra que normas sociales formales y centralizadas incrementarían la contribución al servicio de limpieza pública; en particular, contribuciones a través del recibo de agua y saneamiento de la Empresa Prestadora de Servicios de Saneamiento local (SedaCusco). Lo anterior tendría importantes implicancias de política pública a escala local para la mejora de la gestión integral de los residuos sólidos para este caso. Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del XVII Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2015, con el auspicio del Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) - Canada, el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés) y la Fundación Manuel J. Bustamante de la Fuente.
