Abstract

Esta investigación corresponde al capítulo 10. Salud, del libro La investigación económica y social en el Perú, 2004-2007. Balance y prioridades para el futuro, serie CIES Diagnóstico y Propuesta 40, 2012, pp. 403 a 427. El avance del fenómeno de la globalización ha llevado a que se realicen algunos trabajos de análisis sobre la salud. Con un alcance más específico, varios estudios se han dedicado a analizar el efecto del Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) con Estados Unidos sobre los precios y el acceso a las medicinas. El presente documento tiene dos grandes secciones: el balance de la investigación en salud entre los años 2004 y 2007; brindando una visión global y detallada sobre el sector; y una agenda de investigación desarrollando una propuesta inicial y tentativa de las que podrían ser las prioridades de la investigación económica y social en salud en los próximos años, a partir de una intersección entre los intereses de las políticas públicas y los temas de análisis pendientes y factibles. El estudio contó con el financiamiento de la Agencia Canadiense para el Desarrollo Internacional (ACDI) y el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés).
