Propuesta de un instrumento de política que busca reducir la inestabilidad cambiaria y financiera

Abstract

El objetivo general de la investigación es estudiar la pertinencia y viabilidad de la introducción de un impuesto a los flujos de capital (Impuesto Tobin), como un instrumento market friendly que tenga el propósito de reducir la inestabilidad cambiaria y financiera causada por la volatilidad de los flujos de capital, dada la importancia que estos han ido adquiriendo en los últimos años en nuestra economía y, en general, en todos los países del mundo (la globalización financiera). Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del V Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2003, con el auspicio de la Agencia Canadiense para el Desarrollo Internacional (ACDI) y el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés).
