Análisis de la heterogeneidad en los retornos a la educación en función del gasto público regional

Abstract

La investigación busca extender la evidencia de las estimaciones de los retornos a la educación en Perú. En particular, se explora la posible heterogeneidad en los retornos a la educación como consecuencia del gasto público regional. Este tipo de heterogeneidad podría darse debido al efecto que el gasto público puede tener tanto sobre la demanda como sobre la oferta laboral Katz, F. y Murphy, K. (1992). El objetivo general es analizar el posible rol del gasto público como fuente de heterogeneidad en los retornos a la educación, con énfasis en la heterogeneidad a nivel regional. Los objetivos específicos son: (i) analizar la significativa diferencia en los retorno a la educación a nivel regional; (ii) encontrar qué funciones del gasto público se encuentran más relacionadas con la heterogeneidad en los retornos. Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del XIV Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2012, con el auspicio del Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés) y la Fundación Manuel J. Bustamante de la Fuente.
