El enfoque de género en la investigación del CIES. Balances y propuestas

Abstract

El presente trabajo responde a la convocatoria hecha por el Consorcio de Investigación Económica y Social (CIES) para realizar un estudio sobre las formas de incorporación del género en las investigaciones hechas por sus asociados en el período 1999-2003. Dado el alto perfil y la influencia que tiene el CIES como consorcio, así como sus asociados individualmente, en relación con las decisiones públicas, es de suma importancia que las investigaciones que auspicia y difunde sean de la mejor calidad. Por ello, se requiere la incorporación plena de la abundante evidencia que se viene acumulando acerca de la importancia del género en el funcionamiento de todas las sociedades humanas. Los estudios académicos de género se iniciaron con el objetivo por subsanar los vacíos en la base empírica de las ciencias económicas y sociales. Por ello, la identificación de estos temas, debidamente ubicados y adecuadamente tratados, es una tarea que todavía no termina. Este documento es auspiciado por la Agencia Canadiense para el Desarrollo Internacional (ACDI) y el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés). Se publicó en la serie Diagnóstico y Propuesta 23, 2006.
