Concepciones y percepciones sobre los derechos sexuales y reproductivos en la adolescencia

Abstract

Acerca de los problemas de salud sexual y reproductiva que afectan los derechos de los/las adolescentes en la región de La Libertad, el estudio destaca lo que –en términos teóricos– parece obvio: que la ley internacional declara que niños, niñas y adolescentes gozan de los mismos derechos humanos que los adultos bajo determinadas condiciones y tutelaje. No obstante, en la vida cotidiana, el tutelaje que se impone sobre ellas y ellos muestra, muchas veces, falta de reconocimiento a su calidad de seres humanos portadores de derechos. A la luz de los instrumentos normativos que protegen y garantizan los derechos sexuales y los derechos reproductivos de los/las adolescentes en el plano internacional y la legislación vigente en el ámbito nacional, el estudio que se presenta analiza la problemática y vaivenes de la política pública frente al embarazo adolescente, la educación sexual en los hogares, escuelas y la orientación sexual y reproductiva en los servicios de salud. Este documento forma parte del proyecto Observatorio del Derecho a la Salud y del Programa Derechos de Salud de CARE Perú. Se publicó en la serie CIES Diagnóstico y Propuesta 29, 2007, gracias al auspicio de la Fundación Ford y CARE Perú.
