Cyber risk: Leveraging a multidisciplinary approach

Author

Abstract

The year 2019 is a critical one for thoughtful, multidisciplinary discussion on what cyber risk is and how to better enable its appropriate management. Effective board engagement and franchise management of cyber risk will require hard work and creativity; professionals from across companies’ revenue and non-revenue generating teams will need to proactively share expertise to make cyber relatable and understood in the context of their own company’s business growth and risk appetites. To benefit from these diverse perspectives, applying concepts from other areas of financial sector risk management to cyber is critical, particularly to develop more scalable and outcomes-based risk management and regulatory frameworks, public policy and supervisory techniques.
