Aspecte ale evoluției sistemului de protecție a soiurilor de plante

Abstract

Soiurile de plante prezintă un obiect de proprietate intelectuală cu un specific aparte și cu un potenţial major de implementare în economia bazată pe agricultură a Republicii Moldova. Specificul soiurilor de plante este determinat de faptul că procesul de selecţie a unui soi de plantă poate fi de o durată foarte lungă, cu implicarea unor costuri și investiţii majore. În acelaşi timp, materialul soiului de plantă poate fi reprodus foarte uşor de către alte persoane fără a depune mare efort. Acest fapt determină importanţa existenţei unui instrument juridic care să vină în susţinerea eforturilor amelioratorilor privind selecţia noilor soiuri de plante și care să permită rambursarea investiţiilor și cheltuielilor suportate și asigurarea respectării drepturilor.
