An evaluation of comprehensive health care in the management of Down's syndrome

Abstract

The availability of comprehensive medical care in a sub-specialty clinic has resulted in a reduction in the frequency and length of hospitalization of young children with Down's syndrome. Comprehensive medical care can be provided in many different settings such as in private practice. This approach may be considered as one alternative in management of children with complex medical problems in a large medical center where care tends to be fragmented.
