Comércio Internacional e Performance das Firmas Brasileiras

Abstract

Utilizando a metodologia de regressão para misturas finitas, o artigo tem por objetivo verificar se a heterogeneidade das firmas quanto aos salários e ao padrão de crescimento pode ser explicada pelo tipo de inserção comercial internacional que estas firmas apresentam. Os resultados mostram que as firmas podem ser agrupadas em três e quatro grupos, o que indica que a heterogeneidade das firmas vai além da dicotomia firma exportadora/firma não exportadora. Os resultados também confirmam que exposição diferencial ao comércio internacional implica em diferentes resultados em termos de produtividade do trabalho. Quanto maior é o envolvimento das firmas no comércio (firmas que se envolvem tanto na exportação quanto na importação), maior é o prêmio salarial.
