A Política e seu Lugar no Estruturalismo: Celso Furtado e o Impacto da Grande Depressão no Brasil

Abstract

O artigo tem por objeto a discussão sobre a pertinência das críticas que assinalam haver o estruturalismo cepalino subestimado as variáveis de ordem política em suas análises. Na primeira parte, em nível mais abstrato, aborda a controvérsia procurando esclarecer a relação entre variáveis econômicas e políticas no método estruturalista, tendo por base Celso Furtado. A seguir, elege a clássica interpretação deste autor sobre o impacto da Grande Depressão da década de 1930 no Brasil como caso para analisar a utilização do método estruturalista em estudos históricos.
