Abstract

The development and expansion of space activities, their diversification, and enlargement of the list of participants determine the possibility of considering such activities as an element of international relations. The dynamism of the ongoing processes requires the definition of the legal framework and format of economic operations. The purpose of the article is to identify the key trends in the development of the global space economy. The given data reflects the upward trend in total expenditures with the government and defense expenditures accounting for a major share in their structure. The review of international regulations shows the discrepancy between the realities and the existing regulation. The uneven development by country is identified.
