Abstract

The article is devoted to the competition issues in public procurement. The author presents the key results of theoretical researches and the outcomes of practical activities in improving competitive environment in public procurement undertaken by such leading international institutions as the UN, the OECD, the World Bank, the WTO. Transparency and predictability of the regulatory system play a crucial role in attracting new suppliers for government procurement. International organizations are making state-of-the-art recommendations in this area. At the same time, implementation of these high standards within the framework of specific national systems is a challenging task, which requires the development and realization of individual assistance programs or searching for other formats, such as country-to-country cooperation.
