Abstract

The article deals with the challenge of understanding and discussing difficult business texts in the groups of elementary and low-intermediate students. The author gives some theoretical background to the problem which, on the one hand, arises from the fact that students are unable to see the inner links between the parts of the text and therefore cannot get all the information given; on the other hand, students often find it difficult to interpret the text correctly because of its emotional and expressive components. The strategy suggested to tackle the difficulties successfully could also be helpful when dealing with authentic texts for personal purposes.
