Abstract

Collaboration is one of the defining features of modern science. Nanotechnology as an emerging interdisciplinary field, and simultaneously as global research initiative gives for that a good example. In this article we performed the bibliometric analysis of collaboration of Russian scientists in one of the most important direction of nanotechnology, related to the study of carbon nanostructures. In the spotlight are the questions of the development of co-authorship ties (at the level of the country, institutions, and individual researchers) and also their role and influence on the impacts of Russian research publications. In particular, it is shown that international coauthorship significantly increases the citation of publications, on the contrary, multiple-authored publications of only Russian scientists in the average cited even less, than the publications of a single author. Initial information for the analysis was extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded. The obtained results represent an explorative interest and may be useful in making decisions.
