Abstract

Based on a global value chain framework, the objective of this paper is to understand the nature and impacts of a new techno-productive paradigm applied to the production of biological-based goods. This new paradigm, associated to precision farming and precision cattle ranching, is characterized by the increasing role of knowledge intensive services and digitalized based-tasks in agricultural production. Based on a case study methodology, we analyse the critical assets that enabled the creation and growth of two suppliers of knowledge intensive services for precision farming and cattle ranching in Argentina.
