Abstract

The contribution of this paper consists of a general analysis of relevant tendencies in absolute labor income mobility in 2003-2013, both at the individual and household level. We analyze the evolution of income variability and we perform a comparison with that observed for the 90s in other works. We also perform a decomposition of such mobility in a component that captures occupational dynamics and another one that represents wage dynamics. Furthermore, we characterize the main demo-graphic factors associated to mobility through regressions. Finally, we investigate the existence of convergence.
