Abstract

This document describes the process of revitalization of collective bargaining and analyses its impact on labour incomes distribution. The main results show that collective bargaining has contributed to reduce labour income inequality, mainly, by lowering dispersion of wages among covered workers by generating a flatter premium structure (i.e. lower differences between categories) with regards to the type of job/occupation (i.e. workers performing professional, technical, operative or unskilled tasks) and to seniority.
