Abstract

The principal aims of this paper is measure and examine intergenerational earnings mobility in Argentina, exploring particularly the existence of difference by gender and between sons in distinct sections of income distribution and to comes from different family background. The results derived from the information of two samples from the Permanent Household Survey of 1986 and 2006, suggested that parent’s income is correlated more strongly with daughter’s income than they do with of a son and show a bigger parent’s income effect for the sons in the more poor income quintiles.
