Abstract
Suggested Citation
Note: The empirical analysis of this study was carried out during my postdoctoral stage. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my supervisors, who gave me continuous and most appreciated guidance. For Hungary, the administrative dataset of unemployment benefit recipients was created by the Institute of Economics, Research Centre for Economic and Regional Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA KRTK KTI) from the raw data provided by the National Employment Service, Budapest, Hungary. Although the MTA KRTK KTI made efforts to clean the data, it cannot be held liable for any remaining error. The author is grateful to the anonymous referees for their very helpful comments and suggestions.
