Abstract

The evolution of the world economy is a sinuous one, periods of prosperity and economic growth alternating with decline and recessions. Despite the acceptance of this reality, the outbreak of eco-nomic crises as turning points in economic activity, always raise questions that have been given various answers. In recent decades the world economy experienced a series of severe financial and banking crisis, which through growing interdependences between countries had seriously put into dis-cussion the global stability. However, the current economic crisis is by far the most serious in the light of both its amplitude, but mainly by the negative effects on the world economy.
