Cándida Morand y Viuda de Carbonell: luz sobre una hidden giant

Abstract

El artículo ilumina la figura de Cándida Morand quien fue propietaria única y gestora de su sociedad, Viuda de Carbonell, a través de la cual logró la pervivencia de la riqueza socioemocional de la familia sorteando la quiebra de Antonio Carbonell y la bancarrota familiar. Además, desempeñó un papel protagonista en la gestión de su empresa, haciéndola evolucionar desde las actividades financieras y de recaudación de impuestos a las comerciales e industriales, en la tutela de los procesos de cambio generacional y en asentar las bases de la longevidad empresarial. Cándida Morand, finalmente, ha dejado de ser una hidden giant española de finales del siglo XIX. KEY Classification-JEL: I20; M14; N53; N83
