Abstract

Aldea Moret fue un núcleo obrero vinculado a la minería del fosfato en la zona próxima a la capital de la provincia de Cáceres. Aunque está comprobada la presencia de mineros entre los años sesenta y setenta en el Calerizo de Cáceres, coincidiendo con la explotación de las minas, no será hasta la implantación de la Sociedad General de Fosfato de Cáceres en 1876 cuando se produzca la construcción de una pedanía formada por trabajadores y trabajadoras de la mina. En este trabajo abordamos su nacimiento y desarrollo hasta los años veinte de la pasada centuria, resaltando el poder de atracción que ejerció entre la población de la provincia y en el de provincias limítrofes en períodos coyunturales favorables, así como la magnitud del trabajo femenino, dado el proceso de manipulación del mineral una vez extraído de la mina.
