Precios, salarios y carga laboral durante el siglo xviii. El caso de la villa de El Burgo de Osma (Soria)

Abstract

Este artículo proporciona nueva evidencia sobre la evolución de precios y salarios en el siglo xviii. A diferencia de la mayoría de los trabajos hasta ahora disponibles, este se centra en un núcleo de población de pequeño tamaño, la villa episcopal de El Burgo de Osma (Soria), situada en una zona también poco estudiada, el alto valle del Duero. El índice de precios de la localidad describe las mismas tendencias y ciclos que los de otros núcleos de población de mayor tamaño. Por otro lado, un análisis de la relación entre los salarios reales y la carga laboral apunta a que en el transcurso del siglo xviii se produjo una notable intensificación del trabajo.
