La difusión en España de la obra de Milton Friedman y su influencia en la política económica española (1956-1977)

Abstract

Este artículo ofrece una síntesis cronológica del contenido de los principales trabajos de Milton Friedman traducidos al castellano y publicados en España durante las dos décadas comprendidas entre 1956 y 1977, así como la influencia de sus ideas en las medidas de política económica, especialmente de la monetaria, aplicadas en el Plan de Estabilización de 1959 y en los Pactos de la Moncloa de 1977. Se distinguen tres tipos de publicaciones: los trabajos incluidos en revistas especializadas de economía; los libros y colaboraciones en libros, entre ellos Capitalismo y libertad y Ensayos sobre Economía Positiva; y finalmente nos referimos a la difusión de las ideas de Friedman a través de los manuales utilizados en el ámbito universitario.
