Specificity of the refinancing of mortgage loans in Russia and conceptual approaches to them

Abstract

This article discusses one of the most pressing problems arising in the Russian mortgage market, which has arisen as a result of hasty decisions on the part of borrowers, and not thought out a number of banks and credit policy of the country. Borrowers who received mortgage loans in hard currency, but receiving income in rubles, faced with the «payment shock» when the ruble income was not enough to pay the monthly payments due to a sharp increase in the cost of foreign exchange.
